The day has finally arrived and we couldn’t be more excited! We’re a little nervous but encouraged by the fact that we get to experience this journey together. We are officially jobless, homeless and about to embark on an adventure of a lifetime (it finally hit us a few days ago!). The past 4 months have been a mixture of researching, planning, creating spreadsheets of expenses and gear, immunizing, moving, packing, finishing up at work and celebrating with family and friends. It’s been bittersweet to say the least and we will definitely miss you all.
We bid our apartment in Arlington, VA farewell (adios to The Clarendon #145! moving pics below) – a place that was our first home together for the past four years and although it was really hard, we are ready for this next chapter on the road together.
The support we’ve had from everyone in our lives, including our respective employers has been so positive and such a blessing. We still feel a little crazy for taking this leap but know that we will return rich with experience, cultured, and humbled and with new friendships we make along the way. We leave tonight for Lisbon, Portugal and with an appetite for its local flavors!
